Happy spring, everyone! April is shaping up to be a busy month in Haldimand, so mark your calendars for these upcoming events and take advantage of all the community has to offer.

Community Volunteer Income Program – Various dates in April
If you need a hand preparing your tax return, the Haldimand County Public Library has you covered! This month, the library is offering a free income tax filing service with trained volunteers in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency. Tax clinics will be by appointment only. Call 289-674-0400 or drop in at the Library to leave your name and phone number. A volunteer will contact you to book your appointment.

Annual Variety Show – April 6, 7, 8
The Fisherville Lions invite you to their Annual Variety Show at the Fisherville Community Centre. Tickets are $15 per person.

Crafternoons: DIY Bath Products – April 10
Nothing beats soaking in a relaxing bath after a long, spring walk! The Caledonia Library will host this adult craft program, teaching participants how to use simple household ingredients to create luxurious bath products. Program cost is $2. Registration is required. Call 289-674-0400.

Make Your Own Fascinator – April 12
If you love these spectacular headpieces made popular by glamourous women all over the world, don’t miss your opportunity to create your own masterpiece! Haldimand County Museum and Archives will host a workshop where participants will let their creativity shine as they fashion a one-of-a-kind fascinator to take home. Cost is $10 per person. Workshop runs from 1 – 3 p.m. For more information, call 905-772-5880.

5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt – April 14
Children 13 and under are welcome to attend this fun event, happening once again at Henning Ball Park. There will be 20,000 chocolate eggs to hunt for, face painting, live bunnies, prizes, raffles and the opportunity for kids to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. LaFortune Park Clean-up Day – April 22
Celebrate Earth Day with neighbours, family and friends and help make Caledonia a little greener! All are invited to join the Friends of LaFortune Park for a clean-up day. Volunteers are asked to meet at the front gates at 9:30 a.m.
